Swedish Sisters

Have you heard of First Aid Kit?  They've been one of my favorite bands since the summer.  Sisters, Klara and Johanna, write and perform their songs with a refreshing honesty and simplicity.  Their combined voices and knowing lyrics are simply bewitching!  Not to mention their individual beauty and indie folk style.

I've been listening to this song a lot lately, a sort of anthem for January and all that this year will hold.

Well, it's a new year, with it comes more than new fears.

Met a young man who was in tears, he asked me,

"What induces us to stay here?"

I said, "I don't know much and I'm not lying,

But I think you just have to keep on trying."

And I know I am naive, but if anything,

That's what's going to save me,

That's what's going to save me.

 This new year will inevitably bring change for all of us, whether large or small, and with it, the need to make all sorts of decisions.  And if you're anything like me, you might worry from time to time about making good decisions, making the right decisions.  Oh, the pressure!  Especially since life in its beauty is usually messy anyways.

So, as we go about this year, rather than worry about making mistakes or fearing failure, let's remember the words of these old souls, Klara and Johanna,

Child, don't fear doing things wrong.

 They seem quite cool and fun, don't they?  I'd like us to be friends :)
